Hi there!

« on: May 04, 2012, 07:26:36 PM »

There are music videos that are well thought out; good; stupid; controversial. But what about the ones that doesn't make sense? I love the ones that doesn't make sense. I know two that comes to mind: Foo Fighters Everlong and Queens of the Stone Age's No One Knows. Please, tell me/ show me some more bizarre/funny music videos.

The Look People were a bit different and bizarre. Love their stuff from the 90s. They are friggin' awesome IMO.

When it comes to funny, you can't beat Weird Al either (sure others will add stuff by him)

Weird Al is the king; Primus videos can be pretty funny if you're in the right mood too.

The Spike Jonze/Beastie Boys videos are pretty epic:

This is really geeky of me but I would literally sit by the tv and wait for that "Sabotage" video to come on back in the day.  It was an EVENT.

A couple others - Gnarls Barkley "Smiley Face"

This is MY type of thread.

I will post videos tomorrow.

Although, Weird Al HAS to be king here. He launched at the dawn of MTV and was given four hour blocks of programming in the early days.

The B-52s are awesome fun if sometimes a bit silly.

Well, since you posted this, here's Weird Al's parody of it:

Headline News.  Al tells the tale of three news incidents from '93/'94: The Michael Fay caning incident in Singapore, the Tanya Harding hiring a guy to assault Nancy Kerrigan story, and the Lorena Bobbit chopping off her husband's penis story.

I'm sorry, but if you like B-52's and especially "Rock Lobster," this is the version with feeling.

Man, can't you imagine what it was like to be there?

Well, it's funnier if you have someone to match the lyrics to the video: "Flipping off the neighbors. (Yeah!)" and "If we hit a bump, I'll break my fall with them!" are my favorite lines:

In fact, just about all of the literal music videos are good for pointing out the absurdity of so many of these old music videos. Here's one of my favorites:
