Hanniger! I'll be waiting in HELL for you!

« on: June 03, 2012, 02:44:44 AM »

Hey folks!
Wondered what you might think about this, if you can still view it.  I understand some A-hole copyrighters are making a stink of it on YouTube and are in the process of blocking it in some areas of the world.  So while it's up, maybe have a look at it.  I tried my hand at making a music video.  It's got the Cranberries song "Zombie" set to clips of Lucio Fulci's ZOMBIE.  It's far from perfect, as with each clip the footage freezes for a brief moment.  But I like the idea of Bad Movie Music Videos.  I was going to make more but I am guessing this one will be taken down, so I shouldn't bother.  Hope you enjoy!

Damn.  Sucks that people out there are so anal about a song that's almost 20 years old.  Well, thanks for almost watching it guys.  Smile  I can still see it here though.

Thanks for the sympathy!  Maybe there's some site I can place it where the watchdogs won't tear it down?
Some highlights of the video I thought were pretty cool:
Opening scene (without music) is the "The boat can leave now.. tell the crew." speech.  Then the song starts.
I matched the "In your heaaaad, in your heeeead" part to Olga Karlatos getting the splinter in her eyeball.
A later "In your head" was matched up with Peter West shooting a zombie in the head.
The ending of the song is synched with the zombies marching into New York.

Sigh.. if you know of a site I can put this where watchdogs don't usually sniff for copyright issues to pounce on, please let me know!

Why did it get taken down? Copyright issues? I know they did that with a cool ROAD WARRIOR and Motoerhead video a while back.
it is bulls**t. It has nothing to do with the band-it's like the Sex Pistols said-

makes me sick. Regulating art-and it's not the artist doing it-it's the businessmen-sickness.

As per emails from YouTube, it's content that may be owned or licensed by eOne and UMG, whoever the eff that is.  In some cases it may be blocked or have ads appear next to it.  Some jack@$$es need to get over themselves.

 Well-it's Horses**t.
This kinda s**t gets me to thinking like George Norry. Mebbe he's not so crazy.

If these guys have there way-you couldn't post even an old movie clip without they-whoever "they" are-get a bite of the pie. It's money making milkers. They milk a cash cow-untill it's dry and dead.
What I wanto know-who are "they"?
Nothing happens for no reason. And like dominos-it has an effect.

(I could be a George Noory!)  Drink

Since it was practically impossible to police all the fan made music videos, many IP rights holders gave in and now allow you to use their songs---YouTube adds a link to buy the song from Itunes and everyone's happy. Obviously UMG didn't sign on. You can find a big database of songs that are clear somewhere on YouTube but you'll have to search for the link.

Movie clips are rarely a problem---it's the songs that get you in trouble.

True.. and try as I might I can't find a reason why anyone should put up so much fuss over a nearly 20-year old song.
Oh well, I'll leave the video up until NO one can view it.

You should try uploading at Dailymotion. Whatever YouTube blocks for me is usually available at Dailymotion.
