I just finished this movie, and it is an amazing piece of work.  Starring real, active duty Navy SEALS, with a plot based on actual SEAL mission, this film is a stirring tribute to the courage, skill, and honor of the most elite paramilitary force in the U.S. Military - and, many would say, in the world.  The weapons are real, the tactics are real, and the characters are believable.  I don't want to give away any spoilers, but this film is worth seeing.  It reminds me of an old quote: "Good men sleep in peace at night because rough men stand ready to wreak havoc on those who would harm them."
"I shall smite you in the nostrils with a rod of iron, and wax your spleen with Efferdent!!"

I've heard the action sequences are pretty top notch and the main criticism is that the plot and the acting is fairly wooden and generally not very good, but that the 4 set pieces of action or so make up for the difference.

Shall check it out when it comes out on DVD.

Saw it last week. Think of the "Modern Warfare" videos you see on the net, but reenacted by real people. I'd say it delivers in the action / eye candy fields, but don't forget it's a propaganda piece. Many "dramatic" bits are just plain laughable.
Due to the horrifying nature of this film, no one will be admitted to the theatre.

I thoroughly enjoyed this one.  I caught it at the movies when it came out and it was an absolute blast!  A lot of people had problems with the acting, but I was able to see past that.  Some of the best action scenes you'll ever see.  I hope to pick it up on Blu-Ray at some point!

A bald man named Savalas visited me last night in a dream.  I think it was a Telly vision.

I really enjoyed it, too!  Apart from the movie itself, I was particularly interested in the camera work and direction.  Shane Hurlbut used the Canon 5D Mark II for about 70% of the shooting, often physically mounting it on a soldier for those first person views.  It fascinated and inspired me to see how the very cameras we use at work could be put to make a major motion picture.

The acting, I will say, wasn't the best.  The script seemed cliched and the delivery was kind of stilted, but those guys are real soldiers, not actors pretending to be soldiers.  One of my favourite scenes was when the jeeps were being pursued to the river, and the enemy was absolutely slammed by the gun boats.  Super stuff!

The Burgomaster

This movie is on its way to me even as we speak via Netflix.

It will be released here next week: some idiot went and added a U to the title.

We shall meet in the place where there is no darkness.

I thought it was an okay action movie with some cool weapons.

The thing to remember is that the actors aren't actors - they are actual SEALS.

Which contributed to the dullness of the non-action scenes.

They should have called it Valorous Act

They should have made it with a female cast and called it MACHINE GUN SLUTS FROM HELL.
