I'll say this about how bad this film was-it had Charlize Theron in it, and I never noticed.

I wonder if Big Steve still gets checks for these.

Can't remember that one, but I got Children of the Corn IV on DVD just because it had Naomi Watts in it   TeddyR

It wasn't too bad of a movie actually.

I used to have this one on VHS years ago... had no idea that Charlize Theron was in it, but maybe I just had no idea who she was last time I saw it.

I remember very little of it except for a vague feeling that it was probably the best "CotC" sequel, which isn't really saying much.

Recently I came across a "Children of the Corn Collection" DVD at Shop-Rite which has the last four or five films in the series on it (starting with III, I believe) and I've been tempted to pick it up just to see this one again.

Recently picked up the flipper DVD that has II-IV on it and just watched III a few days ago.  The boy who brought the Devil's Corn to the city was probably the scariest Amish kid that I've ever seen, but that's not saying a whole lot.  If you noticed, he's also twice adopted - which is supposed to explain why he's so evil.

I did enjoy the stop-motion plant monster rampage at the end, just for the sheer goofiness.  The creature was hard to see due to the poor lighting, plus it didn't look like the model had a lot of good detail.

The woman dying by falling and impaling her head on a drainage or irrigation pipe was amusing.

Bought the Blu-ray not too long ago:

Part 3 is my fave COTC sequel. Enjoyed the urban setting, and that kid is indeed creepy. The monster at the end is a riot, add the usage of a barbie doll standing in for a person and you are in cheese heaven.

How was the quality on these, I've seen quite a view blu ray multipacks that are not much better than dvd (and sometimes even worse) so i would like to know whether its worth picking this one up.

Well, don't expect pristine Avatar quality. Quality on these are always mixed. Some scenes look nice in HD, but they are brief and far in between. If anything, these sets don't look much better or worse than DVD, but are cheap and present some of the movies for the first time in 16x9 and/or widescreen.

I detest the Children of the Corn series. I've seen all of them except for the most recent, Children of the Corn: Genesis.

They're all awful. All of them!

That being said, name brand actors do tend to show up. Eva Mendes shows up in part 5.

If you want to see the best one, I did slightly enjoy Children of the Corn 666. At least that one made good use of the band "Faith and the Muse."

Don't watch any of them, though. They are an awfulness.
