Yeah, I know I've been gone for a while.  About a year and a half or two years ago, a co worker finally convinced me to read the entire series of Harry Dresden books by Jim Butcher.  I blasted through all of them in a few weeks and have just recently gone back and am re-reading them.

If you have yet to read these books, give them a try.  They are a hell of a ride, and Harry Dresden is one of the best sarcastic characters out there today.  I'm sure most everyone on this board would love them.

I've only read the first 3, but I like them (I also watched the show, all 5 episodes and thought it was really good).  I've been trying to read more age & gender appropriate (for me) things lately, but I'll probably return to this series soon enough.

Have you read Butcher's other series, the Codex Alera?  I liked those even  better than the Dresden books, and I'm not much of a fantasy reader.

I have yet to jump into the Codex series, although I own them. I'll give them a read soon!

I thoroughly enjoyed the TV series, so of course I had to read the books.  I was warned that the books were different but I found the differences insignificant.  Love them all.  Harry is great!

I saw the series before reading the books. As always, the books were considerably better. Going back and rewatching the show, the changes were fairly large.
