I have some of the same misgivings as the author of the  article

The first step is to get Joe Johnston on board.  He really knows how to do this period stuff.  His take on the the WWII  Captain America was great.

I loved the Rocketeer (the movie and the original comic book), I recommend the film to people all the time. I honestly wouldn't mind seeing Cliff and Betty get another shot at the silver screen.

I can think of one person who'd be happy about this remake, and that is John Huston, speaking about his "Roots of Heaven" from 1958, he said (and this is a paraphrase): "The problem with remakes is that we remake our successes. What we should remake is our failures."
