Or... like all the others...dead!

« on: July 28, 2012, 05:29:39 AM »

As a lifelong Doctor Who fan, words cannot express how heart broken I am to hear of Mary Tamm's passing at 62 years of age. She played the first Romana from 1978-79 (the Key to Time season). I hate cancer! http://news.drwho-online.co.uk/#Obituary-Mary-Tamm-%281950-2012%29

This has been a bad time for Dr Who companions: first Elisabeth Sladen last year, then Caroline John earlier this year and now Mary Tamm.  Bluesad

I find I'm so excited that I can barely sit still or hold a thought in my head. I think it's the excitement only a free man can feel. A free man at a start of a long journey whose conclusion is uncertain. I hope I can make it across the border. I hope to see my friend and shake his hand. I hope the Pacific is as blue as it has been in my dreams. I hope.

It gets worse: Mary's husband of 34 years passed away shortly after delivering the eulogy at her funeral.  Bluesad

Wow, that's terrible. My heart goes out to the family.

+1 for thoughts for Mary Tamm and her family.  She was one of my favourite Dr Who companions, even though she was only there for the Key To Time sequence.  Like Louise Jameson, even as a young child I knew she was beautiful.

RIP to Mary Tamm and to Elisabeth Sladen.
