I'm in the mood to go on a giallo bender. Can you fine folks suggest some of the more obscure ones for me - good or bad - ie: not the classics by Argento or Fulci?

Blood and Black Lace is a great one, albeit not as obscure.

WHAT HAVE YOU DONE TO SOLANGE and its semi-sequel WHAT HAVE THEY DONE TO YOUR DAUGHTERS are probably my favourites.

shame whoever upped the whole movie to youtube (in great quality) has had it removed...the DVD is way overpriced, and needs a rerelease. 'DAUGHTERS...' is pretty easy to come by though.

You might like the one I reviewed (Blue Eyes of the Broken Doll/House Of Psychotic Women) though I thought it was kind of dumb, but there were some effective scenes in it and it was pretty icky in parts.
Yeah, Who Can Kill A Child is definitely one of the best ones I've seen.
I've not seen it, but heard Black Belly of the Tarantula wasn't bad.

I've got the DVD. The first 10 minutes are really good then it goes a bit long-winded and dull (imo).

A couple which I want to see are THE STRANGE VICE OF MRS WARDH and the bizarrely named YOUR VICE IS A LOCKED ROOM AND ONLY I HAVE THE KEY (which seems to be out of print and expensive). both starring the very nice Edwige Fenech!

Berberian sound studio is a film doing the rounds at the moment which is more of a homage to giallo films rather than a horror film. Good for something different and classy if you like.

It's about a meek sound designer who normally does nature docos, who travels to Italy to help do sound for a Giallo-Esque schlock horror film and the impact it has on him.

Giallo a Venezia (Giallo in Venice/Gore in Vence). It's one of the filthiest and sleaziest giallos ever made, and a really crapfest, but its gore and sex scenes should be of some interest (provided you don't fall asleep first)

I bought a copy of this recently.  Other than a couple of scenes (the one in the kitchen in particular), I agree with your "provided you don't fall asleep first" comment.
