Don't know the title of film or even if it was a tv show. I'm 99% sure it was a sci fi movie. I only caught the ending.

There is an elderly man in what seems to be a church, only the small town is in there with him. He mentions the villagers will die unless they give him something. you can hear panic from the people from outside noises.  A family ends up giving him their baby and he leaves. At the very end the father of the baby claims he searched for his son for years, and one day sees him on the street with the old man only the boy kinda hisses and has sharp teeth.

I think the man claimed to be demonic but I honestly can't remember.

any clues?

Fairly positive that that is Storm of the Century, a television mini-series written by Stephen King.

Mofo Rising is correct. The film is Stephen King's "Storm of the Century." The last sentence in the 2nd paragraph is a dead giveaway to the TV miniseries. I was just disappointed that there never was a sequel to the miniseries, as I'd have liked to see what happened after the miniseries ended.
