It might have been on a DVD of short films, but what I remember is a guy gets trapped in a house and can only communicate with someone outside of the house via notes. It's black and white and I feel like it was stop motion (but actual actors) with intersitials. At the end a guy rides away on a bicycle.  Probably made early 2000s.

If anyone can solve the mystery it's yous guys!
