I saw this movie as a child at least three different times on television.  I'm not entirely sure if it was originally released in theaters or was a made for TV movie. This is what I remember:  There was a teen age girl, had long, straight, blond hair.  She was either a kid sister, a baby sitter, an au-pair or mother's helper who I believe wanted to marry or seduce the husband of the family.  In one scene she is coming back from the woods (?) wearing the wife's wedding band.  I think the wife was either killed or may have just been missing.  There must have been some kind of witchcraft or pagan ritual or sacrifice that the girl was involved with.  I'm remembering this through the filter of a child's memory.  The only thing that truly stands out for me is that she is not so subtly playing with the wife's ring letting at least the audience know that she had it.  I'd appreciate any help I can get with this one.  Thank you!!

That sounds surprisingly like THE HAND THAT ROCKS THE CRADLE (1992), which does not fit your timeline at all.

If that's not it, I know I've seen the movie you are describing as well because it sure rings a bell.
