i watched this low budget movie a few years ago and really enjoyed it. cannot remember the title. it must have been early 1980's.its about this young man, probably living in a California coastal city who is a videomaker. he lives in his roomy movie studio, with all his video editing equipment, lighting, and a large VHS video camera. he puts ads in the papers to hire a few models who come to his studio, he then films them and either strangles or suffocates them with a plastic bag. he then transports them away in his van/car. not a scary movie, kind of comical really, the killer looks like some guy from a surfing movie. he befriends his neighbour, who is a young lady who thinks he makes tv ads or something. eventually tries to videotape her also. am not sure about this ending, but have a feeling that he videotapes his own death, as he jumps off a building..

if i remember the sk expects to be caught and rigs the roof of an apartment block with cctv cameras early on,to film his own death, when he jumps to escape the police. i have an idea he makes snuffs movies and sells them to a video store owner, who is unaware that he is the filmmaker

Sounds very much like LAST HOUSE ON DEAD END STREET (1977)

this is a difficult one. details are sketchy. am not finding anything on this movie. this guy was young, probably in his late twenties, could have been mistaken for a university student. lived in almost like a warehouse, converted to a studio, very roomy, with a metal, or large garage door entrance. he would sell his vhs tapes to an adult store owner. the victims were voluptuous students. he may have rigged cameras on tripods in his studio to film, and also filmed with a large vhs camcorder. he was always busy editing videos, with sophisticated equipment, equalizers etc, when his neighbour would drop by, and he would have to pretend that he was editing ads or something, i remember there was a scene where towards the end of the movie, the detective is closing in, and has arrived to interview the killer at his studio, when the killers next victim, a voluptuous blonde student, responding to a newspaper ad, arrives at the same time, but the detective doesnt suspect anything, and leaves, and the killer goes on either to kill the victim, or he does something wrong and she escapes, cant remember. there must be someone who knows about this movie, as am sure the main actor is fairly well known.

he had a van or pickup and would transport his victims bodies at odd hours of the night, and his neighbour, a young lady, would always happen to walk outside, and see the van, and wonder, thats odd, wonder where hes going at this hour? a very friendly guy, who becomes a close and trusted friend of his neighbour. i remember he complements her and arranges to go to her house to film some clips of her, as he tells her she is attractive and has the potential to do modelling for ads or something simular?
