Just finished the novel about a week ago, and serially watched both the Swedish and Hollywood film versions of the book, and I thought the Swedish production blew the English-language one away.

A good bad movie is like popcorn for the soul!

I need to see that.  I enjoyed the American version, but I hear the Swedish original is much more brutal! Which, while maybe not fun to watch, fits the novel better.  Have you read the other two in the series?

"Carpe diem!" - Seize the day!  "Carpe per diem!" - Seize the daily living allowance! "Carpe carp!" - Seize the fish!
"Carpe Ngo Diem!" - Seize the South Vietnamese Dictator!

Not yet, but I did buy the second book. Maybe I'll read it tonight since I have to stay up late (early) anyway and go to the airport. Help pass the time.

I was enjoying this book about ancient Rome recently and look forward to getting back to that...
