Watched this yesterday for the first time in about 15 or 16 years, and it's just as good as I remembered it. I went through a brief phase of watching it constantly when i was younger then for some reason went ages without seeing it.

In my opinion this is David Lynch's masterpiece, although it seems to be pretty underrated amongst Lynch fans. For me, if I had to say, I'd call it the missing link in between FASTER p***yCAT KILL KILL, and PULP FICTION. It seems very Tarantino-esque, although obviously it predates his stuff, so therefore I'd be surprised if it wasn't a major influence.

Nic Cage is great in this film because the role of Sailor Ripley requires a bit of ham, and he can do ham greatly! Laura Dern is excellent and so is her mother Diane Ladd and Willem Defoe as the demented Bobby Peru.

I forgot how sexually explicit and violent this film was too. And how surreal, especially compared to most of today's stuff.

Definite film to check out , especially if you like David Lynch and somehow haven't seen it.

Hmmm.  This is probably my least favorite David Lynch movie.  Although, I have only seen it once.  Maybe a repeat viewing is needed!

I like BLUE VELVET better, but I have to say the very end when *SPOILER  he finally sings "love me tender" to her END SPOILER*  is one of the most uplifting moments I've ever seen in a movie.  Lynch managed to get just the right amount of crazy out of  ol' Nic Cage.

Yeah the ending is deep.... as for BLUE VELVET I admired that film a lot, but I didn't really like it, if that makes any sense. maybe that's one I need to watch again

This was my first David Lynch movie... I loved its surreal feel and got a serious crush on Laura Dern that still lasts, although in real life Lula would be the type of woman that make me run like a b***h. Saw it again a few years ago and found it disgusting for some reason. Maybe it's because I've seen better David Lynch's films since then, or maybe it just struck the wrong chord this time. You can never tell with Lynch. Maybe I should give it another chance now.

Due to the horrifying nature of this film, no one will be admitted to the theatre.

WILD AT HEART is disgustingly violent, offensively vulgar, bizarrely contrived, completely indulgent... and very good.  I was upset by this film the first time I watched it (that opening with Sailor kicking his would be assassin's brains out... literally).  I really really like this film.

It was my first David Lynch film too, and it really messed with my late twentysomething brain!!!  I walked around for days afterward, randomly looking at
total strangers and saying:

"My dog barks . . . some."

Or shouting  "LULAAAAAA!" at the top of my lungs for no apparent reason.
Once a really large African American student looked across the campus lawn at me and
answered "SAILOR!!!" and ran towards me with arms outstretched.  It was . . . .
awkward! Buggedout
