Hi,

I'm looking for the title of the film that I watched when I was a kid some time in 1995. It was on HBO at the time so I'm not sure of the official release date/time of the film. I only remember snippets of the film, it goes something like this:

In a stormy night, people in the mansion is dead, a woman runs away from a boy but then she screams and died (or was killed, I closed my eyes so I only heard the scream). The boy gives an evil smile, then lightning flashes behind him and a demon face appears where the thunder reveals his face. The next scene pictures the mansion full of police officers running an investigation on the crime scene, and they were intrigued to the methods of murder. A policeman/detective finds a piece of occult art, or was it a dagger, with a demon carving on its handle which looks exactly like the boy's face when lit up by lightning.

I cannot remember what else happened, except the detective picked up the item and wasn't really interested in it, and then he talked to another police officer and conversed about how it looks like occult murder or something.

Anyone know the title of this film? I watched the same scenes a second time sometime in 2001 but then the channel got flicked off thanks to mum wanting to watch 9 o'clock news... Please I really want to know what that film is. I didn't watch much of it when I was little because I was like under 10, too scary to watch, but it's an interesting film to watch nevertheless.

A total wild stab in the dark, but this rings of one OMEN style movies, not I, II or III, but something in that genre.

Sorry I cannot be more specific.

Not of The Omen series nor Blood Cult, I checked their synopses and they don't match.

The description I gave seems to be happen right at the start of the movie. I remember the highlight of the whole scene which is the lightning flash behind the boy revealing his face as a demon (which scared the freak out of me), then in the next scene where the detective picks up a black carving of a demon off the floor, and its face looks exactly like the boy's except the detective doesn't know about it, only the audience does.

What are you afraid of? It's only rock n' roll.

Could be "Trilogy of Terror 2."  The end of the second story "Bobby" is akin to what you are describing with the flash of lighting and the face. (scrub to 10:41)
Small | Large

and then that story segways into "He Who Kills" which opens up in an apartment crime scene where they find a Zuni Fetish doll, which is possessed and kills people.

Not Trilogy of Terror either. The description I gave is pretty much exact, maybe slight differences, but the black demon carving/dagger thing is definitely exact.

The demon carving is on the dagger handle (assuming it is a dagger), it looks like an eastern demon or genie with a pair of horns on its head.
