The general idea of this movie is that in 1945 the Nazis fled Earth and established a base on the dark side of the moon.

isn't that an actual crackpot conspiracy theory? it sounds weirdly familiar... Im sure I read that the Nazi's invented some kind of 'ufo' back in WW2

sounds like a cool film anyway

The Nazis were close.  The built a bell shapped craft that actually defied gavitity for shor periods of time.  I saw on a National Geographic Channel.  The Nazis had some pretty intense inventions.

Sorry, but the belief that the Nazis developed flying saucers is nothing but an urban legend. The Nazi UFO Mythos site gives a good rundown on how the  myth started and some of the people responsible.

I enjoyed Iron Sky but the movie has some big problems with the tone throughout that hurt the movie. The stuff with the nazis on the moon is actually pretty well acted and reminded me of the criminally underrated "Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow". But the stuff on earth involving the Sarah Palin type president had too much of a parody type feel that didn't jive well with the proceedings on the moon.
