For about the first hour of this film I really didn't care for it.

Partially it's because I don't like awkward high-school movies, and the other part is that I've seen the troubled person gains super-powers that corrupt a few too many times. This movie is Akira without all the flash.

However, the finale of the film makes up for all that. The movie actually makes very inventive use of the ubiquitous cameras in our world. When the superpowers start flying, they aren't just the camcorder the main character conveniently carries.

This movie does really rip off Akira for all it's major ideas. But the last thirty minutes are a heck-load of fun.

This was made in South Africa and to my shame, I've never seen it.

The thing I noticed about this movie, was in the begining the well off, popular and more well adjusted cousin was agrogent and did not take responsibility for things. Had fun, was cool with stuff. That kind off thing. And his cousin from a broken home and bullied at school are always being smart and responsible and proabably to serious and complicated for his own good. I mean when they went into that hole the from a brokeen home cousin was telling them this is a bad idea while the better off cousin and his friend were just jumping on in.

But when they got their powers!

The Cousin from a bad situation started tasting power and loving it, flinging his abusive dad agaist a concret wall. Pulling out some bullies teeth. The other cousin suddenly started making he and the other two follow "rules" so no one gets hurt and being all serious and responsible about it so with that they switched places. And their third just did not change cause he was just the easy going type anyways. That is what I took from this movie about how power can rapidly change people for better or worse. Normally with a burden or too much freedom depending on how the person sees it, Look into human history it is reoccuring.

I REALLY enjoyed this movie.  To me, it was a classic demonstration of the corrupting nature of power.

I really enjoyed this movie as well.  The way they incorporated the cameraman into the found-footage style was very innovative and seamless, and the whole movie reminded me of Carrie, but with friends.  Blu-ray now in collection.

One of few "found footage" movies that I thoroughly enjoyed. Also Chronicle was whored out a little bit in this awesome short on the death and return of Superman. It's good stuff if you like comic parody.

I was impressed by the special effects even though its relatively low budget.
Characters were likable, even the guy that turns bad, because I understood how he got this way with all the s**t he had to deal with at home etc.
