It's that time, folks.

What is the worst new release you saw in 2012?

Prometheus, without a doubt.

Probably THE FOURTH DIMENSION.

But since no one saw that besides me, I'll go with SILENT HILL: REVELATION. Runner up: THE ODD LIFE OF TIMOTHY GREEN.

I believe I've seen about FOUR of the films released this year.  Kind of depressing, actually, but the worst I saw was Ted.

Seeking Justice
Wanderlust
The Innkeepers
21 Jump Street
Magic Mike
Friends With Kids
Battleship
Lockout
Lola Versus
Abe Lincoln: Vampire Hunter

Apparently, seeing as it's on my worst list and all.   Lookingup Smile

I'm also one of the few horror fans who didn't like Cabin In The Woods although it didn't make the list.

I didn't even hear about Silent Hill: Revelation until it came out which speaks volumes about whoever handled marketing on that project.

I call of your choices and present this one:

Small | Large

But you say, it's a crappy kids film.  So what?  Well if you don't want that, then about this?

Small | Large

Or if you prefer big budget and high profile horrific films, then this (Possibly not safe for work):

Small | Large

If you are looking for a clear cut case of a movie being pretentious then this is it.  It also has going for it bad acting, no real plot, nothing that makes sense, no one talks like a human being, goes on for far to long, and other things.

It's been a while since I've seen it, so just check this review for other things I may have forgotten about:

Interesting.  Part of me wants to see it, but watching the trailer I keep thinking, "You went from Viggo to this?"

Killing Them Softly-Yikes! I really wanted to give this a chance but this was a pretty frustrating and poor film. This guy makes Oliver Stone look subtle by comparison. Political speeches over multiple scenes, ending with Brad Pitt explaining the thesis of the film. Worst of all was the scene where the characters do heroin and the soundtrack is ... Heroin by the Velvet Underground! There actually are some interesting performances going on here but overall this was a waste of a lot of talented people.

The Comedy-I just hated this movie, but I think that was the point...

Have to say The Master was the worst for me. Script was too slow/disjointed and watching Joaquin act like a crazy guy when you already know he's crazy in real life is a bit disturbing.

Have to ask, are any of the movies mentioned funny bad or are they bad bad?
