I don't understand why this movie has some following.

People annoyed by the channel lacking science fiction might disagree, although the Maneater Series had some worthwhile films. Being capable of making people think perhaps Syfy films were changing, and being perhaps getting the first fan following for reasons besides silliness, "Wyvern" was phenomenal. "Roadkill" had some surprising elements. "Savage Planet" had some... well, science fiction (!). "The Hive" was crazy. "Vipers" had charismatic characters. "Swamp Devil", "Carny" and "Rise of the Gargoyles" tried to be something besides the usual formula.

This was pretty much generic, with poor pacing. The characters were whittled down a lot barely past the halfway mark, making for a second half which didn't have the body count to support the film, and without noteworthy substance it dragged.

Soon I'll report on another film, which is a good version of "Sea Beast", which isn't "Jaws", incidentally.
