Patty Andrews of Andrews Sisters dead at 94

LOS ANGELES (AP) — Patty Andrews, the last surviving member of the singing Andrews Sisters trio whose hits such as the rollicking "Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy of Company B" and the poignant "I Can Dream, Can't I?" captured the home-front spirit of World War II, died Wednesday. She was 94.

Andrews died of natural causes at her home in the Los Angeles suburb of Northridge, said family spokesman Alan Eichler in a statement.

Patty was the Andrews in the middle, the lead singer and chief clown, whose raucous jitterbugging delighted American servicemen abroad and audiences at home...

Awwwwwww...  Bluesad

They were good in the Abbott and Costello movies.  They could sing, dance, and act.  They were a tripple tripple threat.  Goodbye, Patty.

The Greatest Generation is dying out every day, and Patty Andrews' passing is a true milestone in the history of our great nation. They gave our fightin' boys a reason to go out and kick ass, and now they're all swinging up on that great stage in the sky, with the Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy Of Company B providing the music. Here's to ya' ladies, and God Bless America!  Cheers

Lagomorphs: menace or underutilized resource?

The Andrews Sisters were responsible for some of my favorite music of all time. Great talents despite (if I recall correctly) never being formally trained as musicians. I am glad to at least own copies of their recordings. RIP to all three.

Were they in one of the Three Stooges reels too? Remember the one where The Stooges went to a shipyard to entertain the workers and they had 3 girls that had a dance act in tow with them?  I'm thinkin' that might have been them.

R.I.P. I really have quite enjoyed watching their classic performances in several Abbott and Costello films recently. They were really quite good and their music certainly was able to put one in a good mood.

R.I.P. Ms. Andrews.   Bluesad  Every time one of your songs comes up on my playlist, it makes me dance and sing.  Thank you for that.  Cheers

Interesting, if true, but checking their film credits, I can't find them appearing in any of the 3 Stooges shorts.

I do wonder, if they saved a spot for her in Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Glendale, where her sisters--Laverne and Maxene--are buried near their parents.

Let her R.I.P., Patty.

I remember they were in a short that also featured Shemp Howard, but I don't remember them in anything with all of the stooges.

Now I remember..the episode of the Three Stooges was the one where they did this act called "Niagara Falls" with the "slowly I turned, step by step, inch by inch" routine. There were 3 girls who had a dance act and they all fell in love with the Stooges and went with them on the road to an act they did in a shipyard. I was wondering if those girls were the Andrews sisters. Could a' been some other girls though.

Nope. That was three actresses, not the Andrews sisters.
