Film about a man who refuses to come down from a tower/pillar

This is not Luis Bunuel's "Simón del desierto"! (Although, it is similar.)

I'm looking for a film where a man's father(I think) refuses to come down from a pillar. The son has some sort of moral choice to make and I think the father is waiting up there for him to make it. The family either owns a winery or some kind of mine that is doing poorly in business and I think the son has to take over.

I clearly remember that the movie ends with the son picking up a guitar and playing it as the credits roll. This movie was probably made in the 90's at the earliest, but I want to say it was made in the early 2000's. I think it is a foreign (Spanish?) film.
