Very cool but technically, the baby did not have AIDS. The baby was HIV positive, meaning that it had the virus which causes AIDS.

Either way, it's a great achievement!!

I might be wrong, but there was also a study many years back (but within the last decade) that reported that the urine of pregnant women contained a protein that killed the HIV virus.
Does anyone remember this? I don't remember what station I'd seen it on, but I do remember the story. In any case, this is good news!   Cheers
