My favorite YIKES moment comes in the film Gorky Park where William Hurt pulls Joanna Pacula's dead friend's reconstructed head out of a box and shows it to her. Her reaction is quite something and it looks like her reaction was genuine: she genuinely looks scared and upset.  Buggedout

There's one in "Toy Story" that made me cringe the first time. When Buzz and Woody are in Sid's room and that baby head attatched to some creepy erector set legs rises up in that dark room.....rather bizarre for a Disney kids movie.

I'll go with that one.... Cheers

The Nine have proven formidable foes..as the last of the Ayleids, I stand today and fight for all my people to realize the dream the Pellani have taken from us, our beloved Tamriel..

Today I may win, or I may go home by a road I do not understand, but Tamriel will shine again, and my blade shall be glazed with the blood of the zealots who worship the Nine with their false hero Pelinal Whitestrake. A god does not bleed, but a man does, and Pelinal is only a man.

There be spoilers ahead.

While most scary movies are scary movies, here are some scary movies that are not scary movies.

Descent
The sense of dread, that something is down there, which proves correct.

Finding Nemo
The skindiver coming up behind Nemo.

Have Rocket Will Travel
The flame throwing spider.

The Hellstrom Chronicle
Bugs just scare me.

Pinocchio
Monstro awakening.

The Village
The sense of dread, that something is out there, which proves incorrect.

Wait Until Dark
Alan Arkin leaping toward Audrey Hepburn in the dark.

8 Below
The leopard seal lunging out of the the killer whale carcass. I knew it was going to happen, and I still jumped.

2001: Space Odyssey
The leopard leaping upon the ape.

I remember getting scared while watching the first Narnia movie in the cinema, a scene where a wolf leaps out from between some trees.

.The tiger jumping out of the forest in APOCALYPSE NOW!
.The  hooded spectre of the Death  like ghost in A CHRISTMAS CAROL.
.Tor Johnson rising from the grave in PLAN 9 FROM OUTER SPACE.
.Also from PLAN 9-Vampira approaching the camera with her fingers clawing the air.
.the flying monkeys in the WIZARD OF OZ f**ked me up as a kid.

But isn't play misty for Me supposed top be scary? It scared the crap out of me! I wonder, which is scarier Play Misty for me or Fatal Attraction. Although I'd like to route for the former overall, Glen Close just oozes creepy without even having to try

The spider scene in Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets.  That is probably the scariest giant spider segment in any movie, ever.  It actually had me running out of the theater.

It sure scared poor Rupert Grint, playing Ron Weasley, for he actually had a huge fear of spiders.

When I first saw it, I thought it was just another Clint Eastwood shoot-em-up: boy, was I wrong.  Buggedout
