I have the Director's cut on VHS and will soon be getting the Final Cut on DVD, so I have to ask: How many cuts are there? A cut of meat, a cut of lamb, a paper cut, death of a thousand cuts, what else?  Wink TeddyR

Wikipedia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Versions_of_Blade_Runner) lists 7 cuts, some of which are pretty rare or have only very small differences. I've only seen the US theatrical version. I actually like the voice over.

There's alot.

http://www.amazon.com/Future-Noir-Making-Blade-Runner/dp/0061053147

That book is a fascinating 'making of' book that was a great read.  Went into a lot of detail about what happened on set, why there's so many versions.  I think the new print even has mention of the Final Cut [my version came out before Final Cut was released.]

I don't hate the voiceover, but when you read the book you hate the people who pushed for it.

I've seen all of the mainstream versions of Blade Runner. I know I'm in the minority since I like all four, but of them by far my favorite of them is The Final Cut.

I'm getting my DVD copy today so I will let you know what I think of it: I saw the original in the cinema years ago. Yes, I am that old.  Buggedout TeddyR

I didn't see it in a theater but I did catch it when it first made the cable TV rounds shortly thereafter... and I also owned the two issue Marvel comic book adaptation...so I guess I'm old too. Damn it.  TeddyR

I didn't quite "get" Blade Runner when I first saw it back then (I was thirteen or fourteen at the time, therefore I was probably expecting a shoot-em-up action movie since "Han Solo" was in it), but I recently saw the "Final Cut" version, which was my first experience with "Blade Runner" since that original viewing. I enjoyed it much more the second time round.

(Shameless plug time) I wrote a blog about it when I saw "Final Cut" a year or so back... like to see it? Here it go:

Funny you should mention this, I just bought the Director's Cut which was on sale.  And while I didn't see it in the cinema, I do have the Marvel Super Special comic adaptation that was purchased at the time of release.  TeddyR

My verdict: it is good, as BrotherBob said.  Thumbup

The only fault I can find with the DVD is that the sleeve seems to have been run off on a 1970s copy machine.  Buggedout
