I think, is this...It's the ATTACK OF THE KILLER TOMATOES of the 21st century.
The only thing missing is the song 'Puberty Love".
Glorious stupidity with no apologies. It only need it's own Dr. Gangrene as the nut behind the Sharknados.

opinions?

I can partly agree with that.

I think tomatoes was a comedy that just couldn't be embraced by "the normals".  Tomatoes was "bad" because it was different.  Personally I think it's a really good comedy because the laughs are almost nonstop.

I don't think Sharknado will be remembered anymore than Mega Shark vs Giant Octopus.  That was all over the news and people were talking about that a few years ago, but again many of "the normals" didn't bother to see it.  They just watched the trailer and had fun with that.

They are both movies that caught mainstream attention, while not really being embraced by the mainstream.  I think that's where the similarity ends though.

The one with Tiffany and Debbie Gibson was classic trash.

Actually, I think its a new version of Snakes on a Plane.  I heard that despite everyone on the internet talking about it, the rating weren't really any better then a lot of Syfy original movies. Like Legless Reptile on a flying vehicle the hype was more noticeable then the movie.

Interesting.
As I can't watch SHARKNADO ( I can't afford cable) I can only go on the word of those who've seen more than the trailer.
Just by that, I thought it was kinda like AOTKT.
Heh...SHARKNADO:THE MUSICAL!
