According to this blurb, at least. They actually used the term "long awaited".

The new face of fear ladies and gentleman.

I can't say I'm anxiously awaiting this.  There aren't exactly a lot of wrestler that have managed to be entertaining when it comes to acting in movies and this guy hasn't even been entertaining when it comes to acting in wrestling.

What really sinks this for me is that is a "reboot".  If they had just decided to make a sequel and recast the movie, it wouldn't have been so bad.  Rebooting just strikes me as unnecessarily arrogant.

I remember the original when it first came out with Jennifer Anistan.  It wasn't bad I kind of liked the quirkyness about it.  After that I didn't follow them I think there are four films in the series but not to sure.  Reminded me of something Fullmoon Entertainment would do,lol.

As long as they do reboots of Leprechaun in Space and Leprechaun In Da Hood, I'm fine with it.

He's already been in space and in the Hood.  We need someplace new to send Leprechaun.

I know!

"If it's not broken, why 'fix' it?" is my opinion.

Leprechaun vs Chucky, at least put him up against someone his own size. BounceGiggle
If it has to be another fairy tale there's always Rumpelstiltskin or a group of Gremlins. I don't know how any of those films would work but that's not really the important thing, is it?
