Nope, not seen yet and yep, could have posted this in the Bad Movies forum as well ... but

Small | Large

Manborg was obviously made intentionally "bad" by people who know and love their bad movies. Though the look of the movie reminds me of Demons at the Door (2004), but that one wasn't made by geeks. Anyway, Manborg looks like something to check out.

Plot: A soldier, brought back to life as a cyborg, fights alongside a band of adventurers against demon hordes in a dystopian future.

I struggle with any movie that is INTENTIONALLY bad, and was not expecting to like Manborg, but I did.
It's funny and charming to see young people undoubtedly having fun with the movie. It's very low budget, but they put so much work into it that it often feels high budget. That's what surprised me the most about it. Manborg is a low budget movie, that treats itself like it has ZERO limitations. The director/writer dosn't seem to constrain his big ideas, even if they look like crap when it's done.

Manborg is kind of an enigma, and it's hard to explain, especially because there isn't really anything else out there like it. I recommend it.

Loved me some Manborg too.  I already posted my thoughts on the matter here:  http://www.badmovies.org/forum/index.php/topic,140385.0.html
Spoiler alert:  our discussion gets a little heated and even carried over into a completely unrelated thread, but we're back to being friends again!!!

I must agree and say it sure did look like a video game...and probably one of the worst movies I've ever seen. Now,maybe it was made to intentionally be bad but man, they succeeded beyond their wildest dreams. I couldn't even enjoy it much because the cheesiness appeared so staged. And what was with that blond guy who I nicknamed Boyband? Incredible! Alan is sending his copy to his friend,Dave,in Cleveland....and I'm enclosing a sympathy card. TeddyR

Ha, very stylized. I like the stop-motion barbarian bot towards the end there.

Haven't made it through the movie yet, but that's more of a time-thing at the moment. But I liked what I had seen so far. I also have high hopes for that "Kung Fury"-movie that is coming in the future.
