Bad day at the construction site

« on: July 16, 2014, 09:12:26 PM »

Very little to tell about this movie other than the ending. I watched this on a late Friday night as a young boy in the early '80s, so I am guessing this is late '70s satanic garbage. I believe that the plot involved some cult summoning a Horned Demon Guy dressed in black robes. The Horns on the Demon Guy were actually impressive-looking so I believe that the makeup in the movie, at least, was done well. The horns grew out of the top-front of his head; what is it with that temporal lobe, anyway?

I can't tell you much about the events of the majority of the film, only that a group of people rush into some mountain cavern to stop this summoning. There is a big battle between our heroes and the cultists, which ends in Horned Demon Guy falling into a vat of molten lava where he slowly sinks into the white-hot goo with an outstretched hand, reminiscent of Ah-nold's demise in Terminator 2: Judgment Day (1991). Then the movie end credits begin to roll.

Any ideas?

Good guess, but I just checked out the ending of that one on YouTube and that's not it. The devil guy drowns in a vat of lava at the bottom of a pit at the end of the film. It's the only real memory that I have of the movie.

Possible TO THE DEVIL A DAUGHTER?  I never saw the entire film, but I saw the trailer several times in the 80's.

I just watched the preview, but that doesn't appear to be it either. For some reason, I remember teenagers being involved in the plot of this film. Teenagers or young adults, though I can't tell you if they were the protagonists or not. I'm still looking too, so I will let you know if I find anything!  Cheers

There was a movie called Judgment Day, which does seem familiar to what you are looking for. It came out in 1988.

If that is not it, could it be one of the Night of the Demons films, or Demons 1 or 2?

It's slightly different but perhaps Asylum of Satan (1972)?

I checked out the both of those. Asylum of Satan (1972) and Night of the Demons (1988) are not the one that I am looking for. The ending didn't match "Asylum" and the movie had to have been when I was a little kid, maybe around 1980 or 1981, because I remember watching it on late night TV at the old house by the airport up here. It's around the time when they showed the movie with the poor fellow getting crushed by a cement block in my avatar. Not the same movie as that one, I am sure of that, but it is during the early '80s when I saw it. I'll keep looking. Thanks!  Cheers

My guess would have been devils rain as well, but since you said that's not it another one that comes to mind that involves satanism and kids is "the brotherhood of satan" (1971)

Thanks! I will look into that one and let you know. Boy, there sure were a lot of Satan movies back in the '70s.
