Best
Frances Ha

Good to Great
Side Effects, Place Beyond the Pines, Pain and Gain, Spring Breakers, Stoker, Snitch,

Disappointing but not terrible.
Dead Man Down, Aftershock, Lords of Salem, Dark Skies, Olympus has Fallen

Worst of the worst would be Star Trek into Darkness which is the most I can remember hating a movie in some time. Still want to see Man of Steel, Mud, and This is the End.

GAH! I really want to see Francis Ha, and Before Midnight!
I'll have to check out Spring Breakers, Side Effects and War Witch. I wasn't sure about those. I'm pretty irritated that movies like Iron Man 3 and Oblivion are in my 10. What a weak year.
Also, I think I need to give John Dies At The End, another chance. I wasn't in the mood at the time.

I usually only go to the theater to see giant action movies, the rest I can wait until DVD. I really won't have a good idea of what the best movies of 2013 are until 2015 or so.

That said, the best giant action movie of 2013 is Pacific Rim. I thought it was fantastic, and I'm kicking myself for not seeing it in time for 3D or on the true IMAX screen.

And I guess John Dies at the End didn't receive wide-release until 2013, so I can include that as well. The only downside of the movie is that it wasn't as crazy as the book. The book is like somebody wrote my own brain down on paper. It's very rare that that happens.

Haven't seen many 2013 releases yet so my list is kinda short:

1. The Conjuring
2. Oz the Great and Powerful
3. American Mary (2012) (USA 31 May 2013 limited theatrical run)
4. Stitches (2012) (USA 1 April 2013 limited theatrical run)

.......

Not the "best" but seen anyway:

5. Texas Chainsaw 3D
6. Spiders

5 Iron Man 3

Well one certainly can't argue with a list that has both Birdemic 2 and Sharknado on the list.  However, I'm seeing a shocking lack of Ghost Shark anywhere on this list.  I am disappointed.

My list goes like this...

1. Oz: The Great and Powerful
2. Despicable Me 2
3. The World’s End
4. The Conjuring
5. 42
6. The Croods
7. Iron Man 3
8. Monsters University
9. Man of Steel
10. Star Trek into Darkness
11. Justice League: Flashpoint Paradox

Need to see more.  Waiting for Kick Ass 2 to hit video.

Observation: The Conjuring is quite overrated - it doesn't suck like most Hollywood horror these years, but thats the only positive it has

In no particular order-

Dark Skies
The Barrens
The Wrong House
Frankenstien's Army
In Fear
Antisocial
Banshee Chapter
Hypothermia ('13 release here anyway...)
