If the Catholic Church was an incorporated company, excluding government entities, including the military, it'd probably be the largest employer in the world, as it probably has around 6,000,000 lay employees. And that is excluding priests, nuns, etc. The figure is from Gerald Posner's "God's Bankers," which we'll give a report on at a later date.

To his clubfooted child said Lord Stipple,
As he poured his post-prandial tipple,
"Your mother's behaviour
Gave pain to Our Saviour,
And that's why He made you a cripple."

“Let us, therefore, in training our Scouts, keep the higher aims in the forefront, not let ourselves become too absorbed in the steps. Don't let the technical outweigh the moral. (Things like) field efficiency, backwoodsmanship, camping, hiking, good turns, jamboree comradeship are all means, not the end. The end is character with a purpose. And that purpose (is) that the next generation may be sane in an insane world, and develop the higher realisation of service, active service of Love, and Duty to God and neighbour.”- Lord Robert Baden Powell

I feel quotey today....

"It is fortunate for leaders that the majority of men do not think for themselves."
--Adolf Hitler

"But who prays for Satan? Who in eighteen centuries, has had the common humanity to pray for the one sinner that needed it most, our one fellow and brother who most needed a friend yet had not a single one, the one sinner among us all who had the highest and clearest right to every Christian's daily and nightly prayers, for the plain and unassailable reason that his was the first and greatest need, he being among sinners the supremest?"
---Mark Twain

"I wrote this song. Why should somebody who didn't write it make a profit from it?"
---Billy Corgan (on why socialism sucks)

"Peace, to those who deserve peace."
---Old Irish saying

"Too f**king busy, and vice-versa."
---Dorothy Parker (on why she so seldom met her publishing deadlines.)

"How do I stay so healthy and boyishly handsome? It's simple, I drink the blood of young runaways."
---William Shatner

"Somehow Christians went from being fishers of men to keepers of the aquarium."
--- I dunno, some priest they sent us in high school
