I have been searching for this movie for most of my life. I was really little when I saw it, and I was mostly watching it from behind the couch while the adults were watching it. (not sure if they knew I was in the room, they should not have let someone so young see this!) I believe that this movie came out in the mid to late 90s, and I'm fairly certain that it is from the United States

So, I think that the premise of it was this: Aliens come to earth to breed with women. I think it had something to do with water, like if the women went into the ocean, they were impregnated. If they were pregnant, they gave birth very rapidly, like the scene in Species 2 (98) where the woman is on the floor in the bathroom except it happens faster.

I think that the Aliens were reptilian, with black skin. They started out small but grew quickly, like in Alien (79). I think they also made a hive similar to the one in Aliens (86). It also kinda makes me think of the  evil guards from The Never Ending Story 2 (90). I got held up for a while on the creature from the cover of Breeder (97).

After that, I only remember bits and pieces. There was a scene where one of the creatures was in the back yard of a house, looking into the house through the trees (POV shot looking in, never see it.) In a genius move, the couple inside goes out and explores and gets snared in a dark web or something.

There is a scene at a diner or bbq place where the husband walks back from the kitchen and finds his wife going into labor in the back room. The creature then bursts from her pregnant belly, and then it flees out the door while being shot at.

Next scene I remember is two guys go into an underground sewer. It's dark except for light coming in from the manholes, the scene has a blue hue to it. The two guys get attacked by the creature but some how kill it. I think at least one of them is a cop.

There is also a scene at a beach where they find a woman in a red bikini, but they arrive to late to save her: Her belly has already been blown open by the alien baby. It seemed to come on very suddenly, but you never knew when it was going to strike.

I was told that the movie ended with them coming up for a vaccination for the pregnancies, and then they got all the aliens into a warehouse a blew it up. The last scene of the movie is at the hospital,  with a nurse telling a doctor that one of the blood samples was wrong. Then it cuts to a woman in traffic, her belly suddenly swells open, and the creature bursts from her while she screams.

I wish I could remember this movie! Please let me know if you have any ideas. These are some things that I've come up with that are similar but not it:

Species (95)
Species II (98)
Xtro (83)
Breeders (86 & 97)
Humanoids from the Deep (80)
Inseminoid (81)
The Terror Within (89)

Let me know if you recognize it! It's been driving me out of my mind for most of my life.

Actually, it sounds a lot like the 90s remake of Humanoids From the Deep.

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0117506/

The woman giving birth in her car at the end clenches it.

Yep, that's it all right, nowhere near as good as the original IMO.

Indeed.  The only good part of the remake is all the footage stolen from the original!   BounceGiggle
