Last night I watched Trick R Treat for the first time. I really enjoyed it and it raised the question "How did this one slip by me?"

I'm sure there are many others, so I'm starting this thread to find out what they might be and one's that you thought the same about.

Allhallowsday

I remember FRANKENSTEIN (1931) well, and saw it very young and it frightened me.  I remember my brother having a copy of Famous Monsters magazine with an inside back cover shot of THE MONSTER standing on MAE CLARK's wedding train.  Damn, that image has haunted me my whole life.  BUT, I had become disinterested in that film over time, own it on DVD, saw bits here and there over the decades, but it had become... "meh" for me.  I watched FRANKENSTEIN last night from the beginning and a new appreciation has dawned in me.  FRANKENSTEIN is a GREAT movie!!!  Ha ha, I always loved BRIDE and SON OF and always watch those (on TCM) if I see they're on... now the grandaddy of them all has finally elbowed it's way near the top of my list of BEST Horror movies... the film that just passed me by, I'd seen, grown tired of, became jaded towards, and rediscovered last night!!!
If you want to view paradise . . . simply look around and view it!

I still have not seen Ishtar. A film that was so notoriously bad that not even BadMovies.org will review it, perhaps?
First rule is, 'The laws of Germany'
Second rule is, 'Be nice to mommy'
Third rule is, 'Don't talk to commies'
Fourth rule is, 'Eat kosher salamis'

I thought exactly the same thing when I randomly picked up the DVD from a 2nd hand shop near me about 3 years ago. I wasn't prepared for such an entertaining or well made movie. I would definitely have it in my top 10 movies of the decade 2000-2009

- turns out it was straight-to-dvd release which is stupid for such a good film, but probably explains why it passed most people by...
