Need help finding a horror movie

So I asked this on another forum and someone suggested I might get an answer here. So I'll just paste what I asked there.

OK, maybe one of you experts here can help me out. I have watched the start of this movie (about first 5 mins) when I was a kid on an old VHS tape where I had Ninja Turtles recorded. The Turtles ended and there was the beginning of this movie and then the tape ended. I don't know how the movie got there or who recorded it. I never remembered the name of the movie and wanted to watch it, but never could find it.
So the story goes kinda like this (it's been 20-25 years since so I'll do my best): a little girl, maybe 8-10 years old sleeps in her bed. Her window is open, she is awaken by this hissing sound from the outside. Suddenly, an ugly hand (black or brown, has fingers, but not human) starts creeping on the sill of the window.
She tries to reach for something but the hissing intensifies as to scare her. At last she can't hold on anymore and screams for her mother. The hand goes away and the hissing stops.
Her mother assures her that everything is ok and they both go outside in the dark to check. They are in some kind of yard where there are lots of trees and bushes. Her mother holds a flashlight and looks around. Suddenly, the girl sees a creature (humanoid) running in the dark between two bushes for a split second. Mother didn't see it as she was looking the other way (I am not sure about this part).
Next, the scene jumps to a school class where a female teacher tells a story to the children about some man and some creatures if I remember correctly. This is where the tape stopped and I don't have anything else.

Can anyone please help me?

Oh yea - and the movie was from the 80s or even end of 70s.

It's Celia. It's an Aussie film about a young girl dealing with the death of a grandmother along with the early stages of adulthood intruding into her world.
