I'm surprised no one has started a thread on this yet!
It is beautifully filmed and very well acted.
Historically and theologically, it is an absolute MESS.
But it is such an entertaining mess!
Basically, Ichabod Crane is a Revolutionary War officer who jumped from the British ranks to join the Patriot cause and was charged by George Washington with hunting down and killing a particular Hessian soldier. He shot the man through the chest, but the Hessian got up and came at him again, so Ichabod grabbed a cavalry saber and decapitated the freaky German. At the same time, Crane was also shot, and collapsed on the ground next to his foe, their blood mingling.
Now, nearly 250 years later, the Horseman has revived, sans head, and Ichabod is revived along with him. Paired with a pretty black police Lieutenant, Heather Mills, Ichabod fights the various supernatural forces manifesting themselves in Sleepy Hollow. The Headless Horseman is, in fact, the First Horseman of the Apocalypse, come to trigger the end of the world with the help of a demon named Molech.
Yes, it's a mess. But it has been a lot of fun so far! Can't wait till Monday night!
