Syfy Making Lake Placid Vs. Anaconda Movie

http://www.ign.com/articles/2013/11/05/syfy-making-lake-placid-vs-anaconda

Really, there's not much info yet but the quote is all we really need right?  Didn't The Asylum already do this though?

*doing a Google search*

Yup, they did. Maybe SyFy will just rerelease it under a new title. http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mega_Python_vs._Gatoroid

They've already done Mega-python vs Gatoroid! What's the point?

Asylum's pictures actually turn a profit, since they make them on such a small budget.

I think I've finally reached the point where I've seen enough shark / alligator stuff to last me a lifetime.  They were fun for a while, quite a while actually, but lately it just seems like they've stopped trying and are making them as bad as possible on purpose.

I am in firm agreement. Remember when the Austin Powers movie introduced us to the ill-tempered mutant sea bass with frickin' laser beams? At least they tried something new!

I can't agree to being over shark, gator, octopus, etc movies. They are just too much fun. I still want to see if I can find Ghost Shark. I know I'm going to enjoy that.

As far as Asylum/Sy-Fy making bad movies for the sake of bad movies, that I can agree with. I remember when the Sci-Fi channel first started and they would play classic sci-fi shows and movies. That was awesome!  Then they started getting into all of the "Sci-Fi" original stuff and they went down hill.

Went down hill, rolled and exploded, and left us with the cinema equivalent of White Castle hamburgers.
