SOLVED: Another horror/slasher movie from 1981 or so

I'm going to stick with the one scene that I remember. This athlete at a track at a school, either high school or college, is getting ready to do a pole vault practice. He picks up his pole and runs down the track, does the vault (with a nice form, by the way) before landing on the blue safety mat on the other side of the bar. The big problem for him though, is that SOMEONE -- The Killer, most likely -- stuck a bunch of spikes into the safety mat at the bottom. The spikes obviously weren't visible from the top, not until the weight of a human body was put on it, pushing the spikes through the mat and into the body of whatever unfortunate soul happened to land on it. Needless to say, the pole vaulter dude was not pleased.

I saw this movie in 1983, when my dad discovered VCRs and video rentals. My dad was pretty cool back then, because these were the kinds of movies that he ended up renting. He and I laughed at this poor schmuck that got skewered in his silly pole vaulting game. I sure would like to see this movie again, but I don't know the title of it. Any suggestions?
