Stalled (2013) - Ever seen a zombie movie with (technically) only one person in it where said person spends the entire film trapped in a bathroom stall? Brilliant, snorts and chuckles all the way.

Devil's Pass (2013) - A horror flick about the Dyatlov Pass Incident, this had potential but throws it way in the last quarter to bring in a completely different conspiracy theory. On their own both ideas are interesting but they don't mesh, with the end answering unrelated questions and several plot hints balanced on whether or not you stop to ask, "But wait, didn't they specifically state-?" If that sounds confusing then I must have watched two seperate films caught in the act of mating.

Sadly, I don't get to watch as many bad movies as I used to. I've been made totally mainstream. But after failing to track my movies in 2013, I'm looking forward to doing so in 2014. i'll only track first watches here. Rewatches don't count.

This thread will expire at midnight tonight; perhaps each of us can do a tally of the total number of movies watched, and give our least and most favorite of the year before putting this one to bed - and starting up next year's list!

216 movies total (well a handful of those were TV series).  I really didn't watch much stuff from 2014, but of the stuff that was a first time viewing for me:

Best:

The Pact (2012).  A highly effective indie horror movie.

Worst is a 3-way tie:

The Urge to Kill (1989) - good gawd this even made ample nudity seem boring.
100 Ghost Street: The Return of Richard Speck (2012) - can't even remember what this was about, only that it was terrible.  Thank you The Asylum.
The Corridor (2010) - some people go in the woods and annoy the hell out of me.

215 total films for me this year  TeddyR

Favorite new release: Intersteller

Least favorite new release: Annabelle

Favorite new to me viewing: Solaris (1973)

Least favorite new to me viewing: Foodfight! (2012) Easily the worst animated movie I've ever seen. The lone film I've ever seen that's worse then this is Bucky Larson.  Hatred Hatred Hatred Hatred Hatred Hatred Hatred

Have you seen the Nostalgia Critic's review of FOOD FIGHT?  It's as funny as the movie is terrible.

Total # of films watched in 2014: 203

I watched a LOT of weird stuff this year so I haven't quite decided what my favorite flick would be, though I would give high marks to "Big Ass Spider!" and "Ragin' Cajun Redneck Gators" .... I already know what the WORST one is though: "A Talking Cat?!", with "Rubber" in at a close second.

This was fun as always! Bring on the new year and the new thread!!

Looks like my final tally was 202 movies watched in 2014.
Some of my favorites for the year:

ZOMBIE HAMLET - saw this three times and loved it every time!
GOD'S NOT DEAD - I know some people hate this movie but I loved it every time I saw it!
Both HUNGER GAMES: CATCHING FIRE and HUNGER GAMES: MOCKINGJAY Part I - A great set of books and a great series of movie adaptations!
SAVING MR. BANKS - This movie made me cry by the end.   Over the top brilliant performances!
WER - Fascinating reboot of the werewolf legend.
WILLOW CREEK - Best bigfoot movie ever made!

Some movies I really, really, really HATED:

HYSTERICAL PSYCHO - a horror comedy that was neither.
A WARNING TO THE CURIOUS - really awful British found footage haunted house movie.  BAD!!!
BIGFOOT VS. D.B. COOPER - thinly disguised gay porn, zero plot, over a hour of guys in their underwear flexing.
TIN CAN MAN - A hapless Brit becomes the plaything of a serial killer.  Painfully bad.
THE LEGEND OF THE HILLBILLY BUTCHER - With a title like this, at least try to make it either funny or scary.  This barf-fest was neither!
BONGO: KILLER CLOWN - Not even a cute blonde in her underwear could save this mess of a film.

Guilty pleasures - not sure why I liked these so much:

SHARKNADO 2 - THE SECOND ONE  -  You either hate this franchise or love it.  I loved it, and the second one was even goofier!
KICK-ASS 2 - Hyper violent and disturbing on some levels, but I still was thoroughly entertained.
THE HUNGOVER GAMES - Stupid, lowbrow, way too many cheap gags - but I laughed my butt off!

That was my year in movies.  Thanks for being part of it!

One last note:  I guess I saw it near the end of 2013, but I thought it was this year: FAMILY PROPERTY: BACKWOODS HILLLBILLY MASSACRE.
Avoid this movie at all costs!  If someone pops it in a DVD player, take an axe to the machine, or a fork to your eyes.  Either is better than watching this terrible, terrible, terrible, terrible movie!!! Hatred

I used to militantly see about 365 movies a year not even close anymore. between my job and twitter obsession there isn't time. Also listened to a thousand different bible documentaries while playing crappy flash games.

bad movie of the year

Side Out (1990) late era 80's movies are one of the biggest crapshoots in the game. Grunge was just around the corner and most of the 80's ideas had been done to death. The guy from less Than Zero whose screen presence is an insult to the history of cinema teams up with the guy from Thirsty something with the beard to play a beach volleyball tournament against guys who are visibly much bigger than them. countless slow motion shots of dudes spiking the ball, Courtney Thorne Smith, and the immortal line "Nice shot, cheese dick" ensue

as the first review on IMDB says "If you do not like this movie then you are not a beach volleyball player" I gave it a 5/5

honorable mention to "Beer Drinkers in Space" an awesomely corny Star Trek parody from the early 80's shot on VHS

good movie:

I'll give it to Dream Home, a gory disturbing horror movie about, of all things, the price of real estate in Hong Kong.

honorable mention - Nurse, the insane lady from Boardwalk empire is like a stoned drag queen on LSD. what a demented performance

not so honorable - House at the End of the Street- The test of a good comedy is if it it's funny, the test of a horror movie is it's scary in some way or another. This wasn't. it was closer to funny actually. J Law looks great but this went below my low expectations. The director must throw great parties I can't imagine how he landed her in this role
