Such a bummer. I've never set foot on a golf course in my life, but I can quote "Caddyshack" chapter and verse...and of course "Ghostbusters" and "Animal House" are perennial faves.

I was lucky enough to see all four Ghostbusters in the flesh in late 1988. A buddy and I stumbled across a location filming for a scene in "Ghostbusters II" in front of the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City. My friend and I were part of the crowd behind a barrier, about ten feet away from the 'busters and the ECTO-1 mobile. We hung out there for several hours while they shot the scene again and again. For all I know I might be in the background in the actual movie but I've never been able to pick myself out of the crowd...

I recently intro'd my sons (ages 6 and 11) to the Ghostbusters films and they love'em. My 11 year old quotes from the movie all the time. We're gonna have to re-watch 'em sometime soon in honor of Dr. Spengler.

This guy never really got his due. His writing credits alone read like my entire childhood/teenage movie menu:

Meatballs
Caddyshack
Stripes
Back to School
Club Paradise
Armed and Dangerous
Ghostbusters
Groundhog Day

Sad that he and Bill Murray had a falling out after Groundhog Day. I don’t know if they ever made up.
