Take care Trevor.  At just about your age I found out I have Type II diabetes.  Not a big deal because if I control your weight, eat right, and get enough exercise, I need to take little or no medication.  But within about a month of finding out I had diabetes, I had a minor heart attack.  Then last year at age 49 I found out I have colitis.  I take about 10 pills every day now for one ailment or another.  Don't let this happen to you, my friend!

Thanks, BrotherB  Smile

My brother-in-law and nephew both suffered from hyperthyroidism - they had to kill the thyroid gland and both of them are on medication for life.  But they live happy, full, and busy lives despite the condition.  You WILL be fine!  That's an order! hot Buggedout BounceGiggle Drink

That sucks, but it's good that there's medical treatments in place. Hope you feel better!

When I first started taking my thyroid meds, I felt as if I could pick up cars and toss them like the Hulk. I remember thinking, "Damn, is this how I should have been feeling all this time?" I'm thinking it was.

But I don't recommend picking up cars. It's bad for your back if you don't do it just right.  BounceGiggle BounceGiggle

Since I've been on the meds, I have had more energy, come to think of it.

Another weird side-effect: each morning for the last four days, I have been waking up with a...ermmm...an.....oh hell, a certain major size increase in a certain area.  Buggedout Why me?  Wink

An update: the meds I had to take daily really messed with me emotionally so I reduced the dosage and quit taking them after a month. My doctor has now put me on another course of meds: I told her that should I get the bad aftereffects again, I would quit those too.

I like to be addicted to life: not the contents of a pill bottle.  Smile
