I saw this thing ages ago on a channel out of Tulsa, OK.

The film is centered around a group of people sitting at a long oval table. They discuss various topics, but the upshot of it all is a determination of worthiness. As various characters are found to be unworthy, they leave the table and go outside the room. Apparently, outside the room is nothingness or death.

It wasn't an anthology film. It wasn't The Cold by Bill Rebane. Seriously, almost all of the movie took place in this very ornate Victorian-style room with all these characters talking around a table. They may have been having dinner. It was rather symbolic of life and getting your poorer elements cast away.

I'd have to say it was mid- to late 70s as far as a release. A very odd, talky movie, but it has been stuck in my head for ages. I'd love to find it and watch it again.

Any ideas?

Nope.

This was some low-budget thing. Had the same vibe as Bill Rebane's work and even Larry Buchanan-type touches. But the whole thing took place in one room, as far as I can remember, with everyone sitting around a long table.

Wish I had more to offer. It seemed to be late 70s, given the clothes. I watched it on a local channel in Tulsa in the early to mid 80s.
