Oscar Isaac was Llewyn Davis in the Coen Bros. INSIDE LLEWYN DAVIS. Won a Golden Globe and should have been nominated for an Oscar. The others I don't recognize.

So - I'm just assuming - no Mark Hamill, Carrie Fisher, Billy Dee Williams and Harrison Ford?

This is all after the Return of the Jedi story right?

Mark Hamill, Carrie Fisher, and Harrison Ford are also supposed to be in it. I can't visualize them as playing the part of anything other than elderly diplomats or council members though. I'm not expecting much, especially from Harrison Ford after Ender's Game (2013).

I was happy to see Lawrence Kasdan (writer of EMPIRE STRIKES BACK and RETURN OF THE JEDI) is involved. And, no George Lucas!  Thumbup

They're all basically fairly talented unknowns.  Which is perfect for what they want to be new iconic roles.  Looks like excellent casting across the board.  If Abrams can keep his own style in check (seriously, I DO NOT WANT lens flares), I think we'll have some good films.

Hmmm....a real "wait and see" kind of film. As a long time Star Wars fan,I am understandably curious to see what is done with the new owners of this series. After watching Harrison Ford in "Crystal Skull".....and I like Ford a lot...I have to wonder about his playing such a physical character again. Zelmo 73 could be right about a more diplomatic role.

Well, you can expect, if he gets what he wants, Ford to have a death scene in Episode VII.

High expectations on this one, but the casting leaves me hopeful. Max Von Sydow especially leaves my heart beating. I can imagine he'll knock his role out of the park.

And I know there have been complaints about the age of the original cast members, but one thing they do is they serve as a bridge between the older episodes and the upcoming episodes. And who is to say, if Episodes VII, VIII, and IX do well enough at the box office, we won't see more episodes after IX. There is alot of history to cover.

The thing I most miss from the cast list is not seeing Billy Dee Williams name mentioned, as he was my favorite character from Episode V. Maybe later?
