Back in the 80's-I lived in NYC-I got into lotsa punk rock.
But I still loved my Sabbath,Hendrix,AC/DC-Led Zep-then I heard punk-loved it-but a strange thing happened-
s**t Glam metal bands took over.( Sorry Circus).
Then the 90's-metal fused with punk...I was so happy-and then metal just went crazy!

And I loved it!
Still do!

I seen White Zombie in concert in 1994-the Rev.Horton Heat and the Melvins opened-it was f**king cool.

More Human Than Human, White Zombie.
White Zombie - More Human Than Human

I even dig solo Rob Zombie stuff:
Dragula, by Rob Zombie.
Rob Zombie - Dragula

Powerman 5000.  The singer from this band is Rob Zombie's brother.  He's had some success, but not as much as Rob.

CKY was a decent 'alternative metal' band that came up in the 90s.

Marilyn Manson was pretty big when I was a kid/teen back in the '90s.

Pantera was big, too.

Rammstein, as well.  German heavy metal.  I guess they'd take the cake.

I was very into Slayer and Pantera in the 90s. Pantera really nailed everything I like about heavy guitar music and the whole 'you can't f*** with this' attitude. although I think their best ever album is Reinventing The Steel which is from 2000.

also really liked Megadeth, they had some fantastic tunes but could never seem to be consistent over a whole album IMO.

Metallica's Black album was amazing, but I didn't like anything they did after that. also Annihilator's - Never Neverland is a masterpiece, but I've never liked a single other album by them. never got into Anthrax somehow either, not sure why...
