I know this sounds very weird but growing up during the civil war in Rhodesia, fireworks were banned. I only experienced them when I came to South Africa in 1987.   Smile

Yup - only in an American Holiday thread...

I never read anything like that in any other posted here - UK, Germany...

Why Lester?

and by the way... are you calling us morons?    -   Because we celebrate this great country's birthday?

No, I'm saying that people who point out that the founding fathers owned slaves are morons for thinking we don't already know that

Thanks for clarifying - I thought you were saying dozens of people per year were morons for agreeing to be slaves.  Wink

Just another day at the office for the Northeast...it rained all day yesterday and it's raining now. I Guess the saying "rain on the parade" was invented in Northeast.  Bluesad   But yeah, Happy 4th to everyone and may those of you whose cookouts weren't ruined by the rain enjoy the food and the fun   Lookingup

It rained all day but stopped a while ago and the sun came out about 2 hours ago.
It was hot and muggy yesterday and grew threatening late in the day... but now it's cool and clear.
We have lots of reasons to be glad.  I am very happy to be in New Jersey.

I'm sitting here in bed watching Christmas movies with a couple broken ribs and I can't breathe.

I haven't seen the fireworks, and no friends bothered asking if I wanted to go.

Can't even celebrate with a beer. Cheers

How's everyone's going?
