On the other hand, it's been a long time since a movie gave me weird, stressful, post-apocalyptic dreams.

Sigh... I got those pretty much everytime I read about the environment :( We need more movies like that!

I am really growing impatient to see this movie!

Well to be fair it was shot in Namibia for the most part. But still, Miller, Sixel and Seale are national treasures. Especially because at one point I heard a character yell 'Fang It' which is probably the most bogan Australian thing I've heard on a big budget blockbuster in a while.

I saw Mad Max with my wife's uncle a few weeks ago. It was awesome! I would even say it was 10x better then Road Warrior (which we saw a few weeks earlier just to get ready to watch Mad Max)... and a Million times better then Thunder Dome (although, I think that story was screwed up because they wanted to make it PG-13)...

A must watch movie for any Mad Max fan :)

Haha, me too. I've not seen it personally, but I've heard that their mockbuster of I Am Legend ( I Am Omega ) is pretty good by asylum standards. They could probably even tie that in as it's a general post apocalyptic theme.

anything is better than I AM LEGEND-the genaric zombies were boring-gimme Vincent Price ( the LAST MAN ON EARTH) or Charleton Heston any day.
That being said-I am excited about this-being the original director is at the helm-and NO CGI! Real stunts!

I said this in another thread and I'll repeat it here. The Main issue I had with this film was that I simply didn't care about the characters, and therefore what happened.

I find this a little surprising.  After rewatching Road Warrior right before Fury Road, while I find the characters relatively likable, most of them have absolutely minimal screen time. I think the unnamed woman has like 4 lines of dialogue, and even Pappagallo has like 10.  Neither has an arc or any development, whereas the three leads in Fury Road all do.  I guess that doesn't mean they're LIKABLE though, maybe that's the problem?

I will say my favorite character in any of the films is still the Gyro Captain though.

definitely one of the best movie ive ever seen,the action is non stop an put together very well,the vehicles were off the hook,incredible scenes throughout,never seen an action film with this much action and intensity,should win a few awards,10/10

Ok, I watched it again and I liked it more.  I think I may have just been so against the idea when I first watched it that I ruined the movie for myself.  There are still some things I don't like, but that's just because of stuff they do for 3D.  Other than that, I liked the movie more.

I will say my favorite character in any of the films is still the Gyro Captain though.

Seriously, this movie rocked. I had my reservations when I first saw the trailers, because the look didn't seem right for a Mad Max film, but I left the theatre as a new convert.

It's Mad Max and it is not. I'ts souped up, distilled, matured. Remade rather than added another chapter. Gotta love how George Miller made a film that's essentially an extended chase but at the same time managed to give "the crazies" some depth. Not only in the character of the "crazy" that ends up in Max' side, but also with visual details as surreal as the guitar player in the convoy or the altar full of steering wheels.

So yes, it's more a Furiosa film than a Max one, but we already knew enough of him already so... no need for him to do anything more than defending order once more -even if his fight is even more hopeless than in his previous adventures- and walk towards the sunset, hopefully to another V-8 and further hit and runs.
