If Andy Warhol and John Waters had ever collaborated on a low-budget horror flick, it'd probably be sonethin' like this....

The Driller Killer Uncut 1979 [Horror] Full Movie

     Just watch it.

This movie was pretty awful.  Not even a lesbian shower scene could save it.

Yeah, this was definitely a bad art school-type of film.  I remember when it came out on DVD with director commentary, and Abel Ferrara sounded high, stupid, or both.  Figures.

I first saw this in about 1995. at the time it seemed to have acquired a reputation as the video nasty. I was mildly disappointed with it.

There is one scene that stuck with me though, not one of the violent scenes, but the bit with the buffalo painting and the guy saying something like "you're not an artist you're a technician"

As far as video nasties go, I'm pretty sure Cannibal Holocaust was the biggest offender on the list. Even to this day it remains cut over here. Driller Killer probably earned it's reputation because of it's graphic VHS cover.

I rented this on VHS waaaay back in the early 1980s and I really enjoyed it.  I bought the DVD many years later.  I haven't watched it in at least 7 or 8 years, so maybe it's time . . .

I've contemplated rewatching this movie. I couldn't finish the first time because it bored the crap out of me.

I have this on one of my Mill Creek sets. I didn't hate it, but did find it disappointing considering its reputation. It wasn't all that shocking and did have a real "film student" feel to it.

I heard it described as a 'post punk Repulsion' and I can kinda see why but at the same time I can remember it being not that great but I think it has it's moments. The only thing I really remember strongly about it was thinking "man, I hope he kills that punk band soon".  Smile
