A good bad movie is like popcorn for the soul!

Steve Carrell and Jennifer Garner star as the parents of disgruntled twelve year old Alexander (Ed Oxenbould).
It's the day before his birthday, and Alex has the most sucky day imaginable - from having his head photoshopped to a bikini model's body
to setting the school's science lab on fire by accident.  Meanwhile, his parents and siblings are all having an awesome day!  That night, contemplating how awful his day was, Alex just wishes his family could have a day just as bad so they would understand what he's going through.

Well, he gets his wish - big time!  From his mother's book release featuring a horribly embarrassing typo (in a children's book, no less) to his Dad catching fire in a restaurant, while his older brother wrecks the minivan and loses his girlfriend and his sister chugs an entire bottle of cough syrup right before her lead role performance in PETER PAN, nothing goes right - and the Cooper family learn a valuable lesson along the way.

This was a pure fun family movie that had my wife and I laughing out loud all the way through!  4.5/5

Seen it. Enjoyed it well enough. No surprises there, but what did surprise me was that it starred Steve Carrell. One of the last people I'd think to be in a film released by the Walt Disney Company, but I guess I'd better get ready for some more surprises. It may have taken 9 decades for the Company to hit its film groove, and I don't know how long that groove will last, but while it does, the Company is expected to be the dominant studio in Hollywood for the rest of this decade, and most likely into the next decade as well. Of course, one can understand its dominant position with what it has on its upcoming plate, including . . .

Star Wars: Episode VIII. May 26, 2017
Star Wars: Episode IX. 2019
and Rogue 1. The 1st of a series of stand-alone films set in the Star Wars universe, but not part of the series.

And we shall see what we shall see.

I saw it and thought it was kind of average.  I guess comedy is a fickle genre.  You either laugh or you don't.
