Got online and saw the news this morning.

A sad day, not just for moviegoers, but for all who knew this remarkable and heroic man.

The second best Dracula has left us.  Bluesad

I'll always remember him as Francisco Scaramanga  in The Man With the Golden Gun.

Bob-I wouldnt call him the second best Dracula.
Thats like saying that new guy who plays Spock in the new movies is the "second best Spock"
Nimoy OWNS that role-but Christopher Lee-he had a hard time as well-Lugosi WAS Dracula-Carradine never nailed it.
BUT-Lee took a hard job of making it HIS role-and did it so well-he made a Dracula for a new generation-he was-DRACULA.
He is-for my money-with Bela-on his own terms the best DRACULA as well.

GOD: Yes, he may come in... because he's been invited.

I was quite sad to hear this news.  Christopher Lee has been a mainstay in many a movie I have loved, beginning with Man With The Golden Gun.  RIP, good sir.

I have a letter from his agent (from 1995) when I was doing research for my book: it makes quite interesting reading. *

* And I was embarrassed too.  Wink

I'll always remember him as Saruman, Count Dooku, Doctor Catheter (Gremlins 2), Dracula and Stefan Croscoe (Howling II).

Of course I will always remember him for his numerous turns as Count Dracula, but my favorite role of his will always be his turn as Saruman in LOTR, because nobody else could have possibly nailed that role home the way that he did.  Cheers
