A few of you may remember my troubles regarding my musical life. Well, as of this year things have turned out for the better.  Smile Allow me to elaborate:

One of my recent good friends purchased a drum set last year and made it his mission to practice often and study some theory. In the meantime, I was busy composing songs, writing lyrics and testing out different vocal styles. I was constantly looking for a drummer as I can't write drum tracks to save my life, but it became obvious that my friend was the best person to work with because him and I share the same musical tastes and vision and he had gotten pretty good in a short amount of time.

Originally I wanted the band to consist of drums, vocals and distorted bass. It's something I wanted to try out for a while. After several jam sessions, we eventually came to the conclusion that we would need guitars to really give the band the edge we're looking for.

As of now, we are working on five songs and an intro for an EP. One of our friends volunteered to be the bassist and soon I decided to be both guitarist and vocalist.

You might be wondering what genre of music this band is. It's a doom metal band, but we also incorporate select elements of black metal, old school death metal and a tiny bit of thrash into the tunes. My vocal style takes inspiration from Dagon of the band Inquisition (watch the video below to get an idea). So far, I am having so much fun with this project. The goal is to have the EP released by either the end of this year or by early next year.

I'll keep you guys posted!

I love Inquisition! sounds promising.

to me, the most exciting thing about them is their embrace of overt melody along with all the brutality. Ghost is like that: radical because they are basically doing ABBA within metal.

for too long melody in metal has meant cornball Linkin Park type whining
