The sleep of reasoner breeds monsters. (sic)

« on: July 22, 2015, 05:02:07 PM »

I hadn’t looked at this in a long time until I came across it earlier today…

My Lifelong To-Do List, as composed on Wednesday October 22, 2003

Live in London.

Have a Ph.D by twenty-nine or forget the idea.

Get my clay court winning percentage over 75%.

Meet Liz Phair.

Live in Austin.

See a ghost.

See a UFO.

Quit feeling so guilty about someone who isn’t even alive anymore.

Run a 5 1 /2 minute mile.

Learn to treat negative events as learning experiences.

Create a Japanese garden.

Make out with Ian Somerhalder.

Find a paleo point.

Read the holy texts of the major religions.

Live past my thirtieth birthday.

Go to France.

Go to Scotland.

Go to New Zealand.

Swim a mile.

Have an out of body experience.

Comprehend the secret of good hair days.

Still know Gina when I am over thirty.

Live life surrounded by people I love.

Ah, to be so young again, eh? If I were to show my twenty-four-year-old self a list I'd write today, she'd throw it at me.  Cheers

Mine was all weird, freaky sex stuff, and I've barely got to do any of it.  Bluesad

A good bad movie is like popcorn for the soul!

I'm fifty one now, and I still have a list of life goals I have not achieved.
But I'm getting there! LOL

My bucket list is small but mostly about things I would like to experience:

Flying: up until 1999, I had never flown before. Done.
Flying business / first class: done in 2007.
Staying in a luxury hotel: I stayed here in 2002.

Writing for a living: I write as a sideline and to buy some undies.  Buggedout
Driving a very expensive car: I drove a car which costs close to 300 000 ZAR in 2013.
Settling down and looking after my kids: not possible anymore, I'm afraid. I'll just settle for a young over 18 lover and plenty of attention.  Smile As for the kids, I have quite a few young friends whose nonsense and playing will keep me young for years to come.
Working in films: done that since 1989.
Acting in films: I always wanted to play the bad guy in a film or tv series.

My main ambition is to live my life right and to meet all of you some day.  Smile

I know I can make it on my own if I try, but I'm searching for the Great Heart

A Great Heart to stand me by.
