It was suppose to be Bette Davis and Joan Crawford again, but . . .?! When Crawford took sick at the beginning of the filming, her part was offered to both Katherine Hepburn and Vivian Leigh, both of whom turned it down, before Olivia de Havilland took the part.

If one has seen "Whatever Happened to Baby Jane?" That is probably the "better" of the two films, but . . .?! I have always enjoyed this one more, as, for me,  it is the more "fun" of the two films to watch, especially with its cast, which includes Victor Buono, who is back, Joseph Cotton, Agnes Moorehead, Cecil Kellaway, William Campbell, Ellen Corby, Bruce Dern, George Kennedy, and Mary Astor.

It also has a great title tune, with the same title as the film, to which I enjoy listening.

They just don't make films like this anymore.

"She looks right pretty..."  At the end, someone in the crowd says that...

This film gave OLIVIA De HAVILLAND late in her career, a part that really required ACTING.  She does a great job and JOAN CRAWFORD might have done a great job, but we'll never know.  VICTOR BUONO, a young man, received a further boost, and AGNES MOOREHEAD one of her many great film roles and an Academy Award nomination.

When I first saw this movie-waaaay back a long time ago-that song-
"Hush hush sweet Charlotte, please dont you cry-"
DAM!
It gave me nightmares.
A GREAT movie .
Then Joan did TROG.
TROG! I love that movie!

Small | Large

OH! By the way-the dinosaur clips are from Ray Harryhausen's ANIMAL WORLD (1956) and the Trog head is from 2001-A SPACE ODYSSEY(1968)
my god! I had to look up how to spell that f**king word! It was reused as well in the Herbert Lom flick MURDERS IN THE RUE MORGUE (1971).
I may be a drunk a***ole-but I know  s**t about old horror movies.  Drink

"Supernatural?...perhaps. Baloney?...Perhaps not!" Bela Lugosi-the BLACK CAT (1934)
Interviewer-"Does Dracula ever end for you?
Lugosi-"No. Dracula-never ends."
